Wedson, Mamun slam hat-tricks for Jamal

37Wedson Anselme and the captain Mamunul Islam slammed a hat-trick each to thrash Farashganj Sporting Club with a record 9-1 goal  in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier League yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

It was the third time Jamal had won by eight or more goals in the Premier  Football League. Earlier they beat Uttar Baridhara by 8-0 and Chittagong Abahani by 8-1 in the previous season and it is also the highest margin victory in the Professional Football League.
Landing Darboe initiated the scoring early in the eighth minute when he found a gap in the right side to receive a through pass from Jamal Bhuiyan and went into the box without any interruption powered an angular shot into the far post (1-0).
Wedson doubled the advantage on 26th minute when he snatched the ball from an advancing goalkeeper, who tried to control the ball crossed by Landing inside the area but the Haitian striker opened his account with an angular kick (2-0).
Jamal, who shrugged off two of their key players, central defender Nasiruddin and Rayhan Hassan conceded a goal when Akinyele Peter scored an excellent goal with a solo effort when he superbly dribbled past his markers, Kesto Kumar and Yamin Ahmed Munna before sending the ball into the net (1-2).
Jamal soon regained the control of the match and finished the first half on 3-1in the first match of the second-leg when Wedson scored his second with a close range header on a Sohel Rana cross on 45th minute (3-1).
Jamal appeared with a different mood when they added six more goals after the break with Wedson completing his hat-trick on 50th minute (4-1).
After the break Farashganj became more disorganised and also looked losing their stamina and the top seeded Jamal became more aggressive to completely outplay the Old Dhaka outfit, who just returned to the Bangladesh Premier League after two seasons.
However, play-maker and captain of Jamal, Mamunul came in the scene with opening his scoring on 53rd minute converting a penalty when Farashganj defender Mustafizur fouled Landing inside the area (5-1).
Wedson enlarged the margin with scoring his fourth on 66th minute while Mamunul provided him a neat cross (6-1).
Mamunul, who is mostly featured as a playmaker, scored his second and seventh of the match when he drove from a left footer from the penalty-arch to beat Farashganj goalkeeper (7-1). He scored his treble on 73rd minute when he rammed a 20 yards long powerful left footer giving no chance to Farashganj keeper (8-1).
Toklis closed the score-sheet on 80th minute when the substitute striker chested down a Mamunul cross before beating the keeper with a strong volley (9-1).
