One of the East End’s most vibrant street markets situated on Roman Road will now boast of
fresh food stalls every Saturday to complement the existing selection of goods available.
Roman Road is one of East London’s oldest and most well-known high streets, with its famous
Roman Road Market open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Roman Road Market has been running for over 150 years. It’s a traditional East End street
market selling mostly affordable or discounted women’s fashion and homeware.
Whilst the market has always been buzzing, attracting people from all communities, the lack of
fresh produce was evident.
But now visitors and residents can pick up fresh groceries to rustle up a homemade meal in
minutes.
Traders will be selling delicious artisan bread and delicious bakery products, fresh meat, dairy
and a wide range of vegetables.
Trevor Kennett, Head of Market Services at the council said “We are proud of our market culture
here in Tower Hamlets and it’s just fantastic having stall holders who really care about the
community and go the extra mile to make this an extra special experience for shoppers and
residents.”
Enjoy a fantastic day out in the hustle and bustle of Roman Road Street Market this Saturday.
The Roman Road Street Market runs from 10am to 4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and
from 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and is located on Roman Road.
