Chinese company to invest $28.92m in Economic Zone

A Chinese company named Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise Ltd will invest US$ 28.92 million in BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) to establish a garments manufacturing industry.

Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Member (Investment Promotion) Md. Ashraful Kabir and Managing Director of Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise Ltd. Zhuofan Cai signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations signed an agreement at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka on Monday (December 23).

BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, was present during the signing ceremony, said a press release.

The Chinese company plans to produce 50 million pcs of underwear, T-shirt, yoga pant, swim pant annually, creating employment opportunities for 3135 Bangladeshi nationals.

BEPZA officials, including Member (Engineering) Md. Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Finance) A N M Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director Moshiuddin Bin Mesbah, and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez, were present at the signing ceremony, among others.
