‘Postal Vote BD’ registration open until Dec 25: EC

Registration for expatriate voters through Postal Vote BD app; introduced to facilitate voting from abroad in the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections, will remain open until December 25, the Election Commission (EC) said on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the EC stated that government employees who are unable to cast their votes at their designated centres can also register using the app.

The official urged all eligible individuals who have not yet signed up to complete their registration within the given deadline.

He further encouraged citizens currently residing in Bangladesh to motivate their family members living overseas to register through Postal Vote BD app and participate in the election process.

The app was officially launched on November 18.

According to EC guidelines, expatriates wishing to receive postal ballots must provide an accurate address in Bangladesh.

“If required, they may use the address of a friend, relative, or a nearby well-known institution or building,” the spokesperson added.
