
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday reaffirmed his commitment to reducing poverty, improving living standards and bringing meaningful change to people’s lives through collective efforts.
He made the remarks as the chief guest at JCI Carnival 2026, organized by JCI Bangladesh, held at Pepper Tree BD Event Venue on Madani Avenue in Dhaka.
Fakhrul, who also serves as BNP secretary general, praised JCI Bangladesh for its role in developing youth leadership and promoting social service initiatives.
He encouraged the organization to expand its activities further to contribute more effectively to national development.
Highlighting the country’s progress since independence, he said Bangladesh has achieved notable success over the past 56 years, particularly in ensuring food security and advancing the agricultural sector.
Calling on young people to take an active role in nation-building, Fakhrul urged them to move forward with new ideas and energy.
He emphasized that strong youth participation is essential for achieving sustainable development and eliminating poverty.
Junior Chamber International, known as JCI, is a global non-profit platform that works to foster leadership, social responsibility and positive change among young people.
