BBT/CW Media Crowned Champions at London Bangla Press Club Cricket Tournament.

30 August 2026:  The London Bangla Press Club organised a day-long cricket tournament on Sunday (30 August) amid great enthusiasm, excitement and fierce competition. The tournament was held at Goodmayes Park Cricket Ground in Ilford.
BBT/CW Media emerged as champions following an impressive performance throughout the tournament, while Online Warriors finished as runners-up.

The cricket tournament, which brought together Bangladeshi journalists and media professionals living in the UK, was filled with excitement, camaraderie and a competitive spirit throughout the day. The players’ skills, intense contests and spirited performances generated considerable enthusiasm among the spectators.
After a closely contested final, BBT/CW Media were crowned champions. A £500 cheque and trophy were subsequently presented to the players and officials of the winning team. Awards were also presented to individual players who demonstrated outstanding performances in their respective categories.

London Bangla Press Club President and journalist Tarek Chowdhury said, “Alongside the professional commitments of journalists, sporting events like this play an important role in strengthening mutual harmony, goodwill and the bonds of brotherhood among colleagues.”
He added that sporting activities help strengthen communication and relationships among journalists and media professionals. He expressed hope that similar events would continue to be organised in the future.
The tournament also generated considerable interest and enthusiasm within London’s Bangladeshi community. The day-long cricket event became a gathering point for journalists and media professionals, fostering a stronger sense of friendship, goodwill and fraternity through sport, according to those involved.
