Redbridge Community Trust UK held an emergency Executive Committee meeting on Sunday evening at a restaurant in Ilford, Redbridge, to discuss preparations for its forthcoming Students Award Ceremony and Cultural Programme.
The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 27 September 2026, at 4:00pm at the Ford Sports and Social Club, Aldborough Road South, Newbury Park, IG3 8HE.
The emergency meeting was presided over by Vice President Md Faruk Uddin and conducted by Membership Secretary Jaynul Chowdhury. The organisation’s President, Mohammed Ohid Uddin, attended the meeting as a special guest.
Detailed discussions were held on the arrangements required to ensure the success of the award ceremony and cultural programme. Key areas discussed included food arrangements, artists, trophies and certificates, student collection, stage decoration, banners and invitations.
President Mohammed Ohid Uddin informed the meeting that the venue has already been booked and confirmed. He also confirmed that Guest of Honour Ahmed us Samad Chowdhury JP, along with other special guests, has been invited to attend the event.
A sub-committee was formed to coordinate the cultural programme. The committee comprises General Secretary Shaheen Chowdhury, Treasurer Anamul Hoque Anam, Cultural Secretary Helal Chowdhury and Organising Secretary Alin Chowdhury.
All Executive Committee members were requested to identify and prepare a list of students from the London Borough of Redbridge and surrounding areas who have successfully completed their GCSE and A Level examinations this year. A maximum of 30 students will be recognised and presented with awards.
As the General Secretary and Treasurer are currently away on holiday, a number of important decisions could not be finalised during the emergency meeting. It was therefore agreed that another Executive Committee meeting would be convened following their return to finalise the outstanding arrangements.
Among those present at the meeting were Helal Chowdhury, Kamrul Hossain Delwar and other Executive Committee members.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chair thanked all members for attending at short notice and for their continued commitment to making the Students Award Ceremony and Cultural Programme a successful and memorable occasion.
