Upazila polls to be held after Eid al-Fitr: EC

Upazila Parishad (UP) elections will be from the last week April, said Election Commission Md Alamgir on Tuesday.

“It is time to hold UP elections. The SCC exams is going to be started, after that Ramadan will begin. It is not possible to hold polls during the Ramadan. We are taking preparation for arranging the elections after Eid-ul-Fitr. We will start the elections from the last week of April and finish in the last week of May.”

Responding to question over the issue, the EC Alamgir said this to journalist.
“The polls will held in ballot or in EVM. It is not yet finalised.”
