Abu Sayeed’s family gets financial assistance from Rokeya University

Begum Rokeya University (BRU) has provided financial assistance to the family of the university’s English department student Abu Sayeed who was killed during the recent quota reform movement.

A team from the BRU administration went to Pirganj in Rangpur Friday morning and handed over a cheque of Tk 7,50,000 to Abu Sayeed’s parents.

Proctor Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.

He said, “According to the directives of the vice-chancellor, the university administration keeps contact with Abu Sayeed’s parents.”
Abu Sayeed, a student of the 12th batch of the Department of English at Begum Rokeya University was killed on July 16 last in Rangpur during the quota reform movement.

The university’s vice-chancellor has pledged that the university administration will stand by Abu Sayeed’s family.
