‘Bangladesh has crazy ideas that can change the world’

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has said that Bangladesh has ‘crazy ideas’ that could change the world.

“There are good business opportunities in Bangladesh which can create opportunities not only for Bangladesh, but for the whole world. Though microfinance once started in a small village of the country, it has now become the biggest business in America.”

Prof Yunus made these comments at the formal inaugural ceremony of the four-day Bangladesh Investment Summit on Wednesday.

He urged the foreign investors to look at Bangladesh seriously on the investment front and change the world by joining hands together.

“It’s an amazing journey…that Bangladesh came a long way in a very short time,” he said, adding that Bangladesh is the place for making investments.

The summit, organised by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), began on April 7.

The Bangladesh Investment Summit-2025 is seen as a milestone event, reinforcing the country’s commitment to economic progress, investment-friendly policies, and long-term growth.
