Jamaat Ameer undergoing open heart surgery at United Hospital

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been undergoing open heart surgery at the United Hospital in the capital.

The operation, which began at about 8:30AM on Saturday, is being conducted by Dr Jahangir Kabir, a Cardiologist specialised.

Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar said, ”The operation began at 8:30AM, Alhamdulillah. And it will continue for five hours.”

Earlier this morning, the Jamaat Ameer was admitted to the hospital for the surgery.
