Youth held with hemp in Sumanganj

Bangladesh Army has arrested a youth with hemp from Derai upazila in Sunamganj district on Sunday night.

The arrested is Md Wasir Mia, a resident of Matiapur village in Karimpur union of the upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of army officials led by Major Asif Rana conducted a drive and arrested Wasir from his residence.

They also seized 8 kg of hemp from his possession and handed him over to Derai Police Station.

Derai Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Tanmoy Das confirmed the incident and said that the arrested has been sent to the jail after being produced before the court.
