Thousands join London march marking Palestine Solidarity Day

London, 29 November 2025: Thousands of people travelled to central London on Saturday to take part in a national march marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Participants gathered at Hyde Park Corner at midday before marching through Piccadilly, Haymarket and Trafalgar Square, finishing with a rally in Whitehall.

The demonstration was organised by a coalition of campaign groups including the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), Stop the War Coalition and several trade unions. Organisers said the aim of the event was to call for an end to the occupation of Palestinian territories and to urge the UK government to suspend arms sales to Israel.

A wide mix of community groups, including Bengalis for Palestine, families and local activists, joined the march, which remained peaceful throughout.

Speakers at the closing rally included community leaders, campaigners and international guests, who highlighted the humanitarian situation in Gaza and called for renewed efforts towards a political resolution. Similar demonstrations took place in several European cities on the same day, including Paris, Rome and Berlin, as part of a wider day of action coordinated by solidarity groups across the continent. Local residents who attended the London march described the atmosphere as “determined but calm,” with many expressing concern for civilians affected by the ongoing conflict. One participant said, “It felt important to stand with others and show that ordinary people care about peace and justice.”
