UK Bangla Reporters Unity President’s exchange of views with Paris Bangla Press Club

Acclaimed British journalist, writer, and former principal Muhammed Shahed Rahman was showered with floral tributes in Paris.
A lively discussion among writers and journalists was held on Wednesday, focusing on the visit to Paris of prominent writer, researcher and journalist Muhammed Shahed Rahman, a resident of the United kingdom.
The meeting and exchange of views was held on Wednesday (August 5) evening at a restaurant in Auvergne, Paris, organized by the Paris Bangla Press Club.

Former president Muhammed Shahed Rahman attended the event as the chief guest, presided over by Paris Bangla Press Club president Enayet Hossain Sohal and moderated by joint general secretary Abu Taher Raju.
At the beginning of the program, the leaders of the Press Club welcomed Shahed Rahman with flowers.
At this friendly meeting, speakers respectfully remembered his long-standing contributions to education, literature, research, and journalism.
The open discussion raised important issues such as the practice of the Bengali language abroad, instilling patriotism among the new generation, and the challenges of journalism in the digital age.
In his speech as the chief guest, Muhammed Shahed Rahman said,
“The responsibility and work of this noble profession of ours in the land of exile is very great. We will not only write today’s news or objective news, we will have to write stories of 52, 71 and Nazrul-Rabindranath, Radharaman, Hasan, Lalon.
“There is no alternative to truthful and objective journalism so that the new generation does not forget its roots.”
In his speech as president, Enayet Hossain Sohal said, “Such an event is very important for professional unity and exchange of experiences among journalists working in Paris. The advice of talented people like former principal and journalist Shahed Rahman Bhai will make our journey smoother.”
At the end of the event, the Paris Bangla Press Club presented the chief guest with a beautiful replica of the Eiffel Tower, the symbol of Paris, as a souvenir.
The meeting was also attended by the Press Club’s Education and Research Secretary Rakibul Islam, Organizing Secretary Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Information and Technology Secretary Iqbal Maruf, Office Secretary Mohammad Fakhruzzaman and member Shabul Ahmed, along with other members.
Later, a dinner was organized in honor of the chief guest.
It is worth mentioning that Muhammed Shahed Rahman is the former principal of Syedpur Adarsh ​​College in Sunamganj. He is currently the president of the “UK Bangla Reporters Unity”. At the same time, he holds important positions with Dhaka Post, Bangla Mirror News, Bangla Dialogue and UK Bangla Guardian.
