Long established community organisation Probashi Balagonj-Osmaninagar Education Trust organised its general meeting on 30th August at Montefiore Centre in East London. The trustees discussed on modernisation of education stipends and actions and activities undertook by the organisation in past.
The general meeting was presided over by the President Badrul Islam and conducted by General Secretary Harun-Ur-Rashid. Guest who addressed the audience included President of Probashi Balagonj-Osmaninagar Adarsha Shomity Nesar Ali Samsu, Vice-President of the organisation M A Khan Manik, Treasurer M A Kahar Liton, Vice-President Ansar Ali, Organising Secretary Mohammod Ayas, Membership Secretary Rejan Nur, Publicity Secretary Iqram Ahmed, executive member Maolana Golam Kibria, Awlad Ali, Asab Ali, Sabjon Khan and other trust leaders and trustees.
The speakers said that on 11th March the trust gave 33 Lakh taka to 11 hundrded students of Osmaninagar which included pupils and students from four colleges, 33 schools and 12 Madrasas. Forest and Environment Minister Anwar Hossain Manju was present at that event and handed over the stipends.
The speakers also urged all non-resident UK living people of Balagonj and Osmaninagar to take memberships of the organisation so that the organisation can work more effectively.
