Channel S receives the UKBCCI Director’s Choice Award: Acknowledgment for serving the community: Mahee  Jalil

Channel S has received the prestigious Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) Business and Entrepreneur Excellence Director Choice Award 2019.  Founder of Channel  S, Mahee Ferdous Jalil received this honour on behalf of Channel S.  Documentary screened at the award giving ceremony stated that Mahee Ferdous Jalil started Channel S with the dream of focusing and representing British—Bangladeshi Community related issues and Bangladesh.  Today this channel S has established itself as one of the best and large British Bangladeshi Television media in the UK and in the Europe.

On his speech, Mahee Jalil mentioned that Channel S has achieved this success by facing lots of challenged and realities.  His life too was full of reality and challenges. However, these realities has given him inspirations and strength and made him a brave, inspirational and hardworking person.

He also said that, when he started the channel S, lots of people have questioned his vision of serving the community and issues that he was focusing on.  However, today he is satisfied with his work as he is receiving honours and good words.   He emphasised that Channel S is a TV channel which was born in the UK, established by the community of the UK and belongs to the community of the UK.  There are few community channels which have wide and established set up like channel S.  He expressed his gratitude to everyone for their support and encouragement.

The event was organised by UKBCCI at Park Lane Hilton in London.  Different organisations and personalities received awards in 12 categories for their success and contribution in Business and entrepreneurship.  The event was presented by ITV Broadcaster Shamina Ali Khan. Chairman of UKBCCI Iqbal Ahmed OBE and President Bajloor Rashid MBE delivered the welcoming speech.  Chair of Conservative Party James Cleverly MP was present at the event as the chief guest.
