Chattogram-8 by-polls underway

By-elections to the Chattogram-8 constituency is underway on Thursday using electronic voting machine (EVM) at 190 centres.

Awami League nominated candidate Noman Al Mahmud cast his vote at Bohoddarhat Ekhlasur Rahman Government Primary School centre after the voting began at 8am.

There are a total of 5,17,652 voters in this constituency.

Meanwhile, BNP and Jatiya Party are not take part in the election.

The Chattogram-8 constituency fell vacant following the death of lawmaker Muslem Uddin Ahmed on February 5.
