Writ filed to declare all citizens, except Razakars, of 1971 as freedom fighters

A writ has been filed seeking directive to prepare a list of freedom fighters declaring all citizens of Bangladesh, except Razakars, during the War of Liberation in 1971 as freedom fighters.

Supreme Court lawyer Yunus Ali Akanda filed the writ on Tuesday (July 16).

The writ was filed making the Secretary to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Jatiya Muktijoddha Council chairman and other concerned as the respondents.

The writ proposed cancellation of the existing lists of the freedom fighters and announce all the citizens of Bangladesh during 1971 as freedom fighters and make a full list through the inclusion of the names of all freedom fighters concerned.
