Hasina, Quader, Shamim Osman among 62 sued in another N’ganj murder case

Another murder case has been filed against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 61 others over the death of a fish trader in Narayanganj’s Siddhirgaj upazila.

Shahnaz Begum, wife of deceased Milon, filed the case with Siddhirgaj Police Station on Sunday (August 18) night. The police station OC Mohammad Abu Bakr Siddiq confirmed the matter at about 1am on Monday.

Deceased Milon, a fish trader in Siddhirgaj Pul area, used to live with his family at Mizmizi Purbapara area in Siddhirganj.

On July 21, Milon was going to fish warehouse at Shimrail area of the Dhaka-Chattogram highway with his two nephews at noon during the Quota Reform Movement. Suddenly, leaders and activists of Awami League, Chhatra League and Jubo League started firing indiscriminately on the protesters. At that time, Milon was hit by bullet on his chest and he fell on the ground. His nephews with the help of local people rushed him to a local hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at about 12:30am.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former lawmaker Shamim Osman were also among the accused.

Earlier on Saturday, 48 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former lawmaker Shamim Osman, were accused in a murder case of a youth in Narayanganj city on August 5 during the Quota Reform Movement.

Abul Bashar Anik, brother of deceased Abul Hasan Swajan, lodged the case with Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station on Saturday (August 17) night.
