Shakib shines in Surrey debut with 4 wkts

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan made a striking debut for Surrey Cricket Club in the ongoing English County Championship, claiming four wickets against Somerset in a match held at Taunton.

Shakib delivered an impressive performance, bowling 33.5 overs and taking four wickets for 97 runs, helping dismiss Somerset for 317 in their 95.5-over innings. His significant contribution, accounting for a third of Somerset’s total overs, highlighted his exceptional fitness and skill.

Although Shakib couldn’t dismiss Tom Banton, who scored a robust 132, his disciplined bowling allowed Surrey’s other bowlers to take control of the game. This match marks Shakib’s only appearance for Surrey this season, as he will soon join the Bangladesh national team for a series of two Tests and three T20 Internationals in India.
