Ex-CJ Ruhul Amin passes away, SC suspends judicial proceedings

Former Chief Justice Md Ruhul Amin passed away at the Combined Military Hospital in the capital early Sunday. He was 83.

He breathed his last around 4AM while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The Supreme Court administration confirmed his death.

Meanwhile, both the divisions of the Supreme Court suspended judicial activities paying tribute to former Chief Justice Md Ruhul Amin.

Ruhul Amin was born on June 1, 1941, in Laxmipur district. He became the 15th Chief Justice of Bangladesh on March 1, 2007, and retired on May 31, 2008.
