BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that there is a conspiracy to destroy national unity and national elections.
He accused the interim government of creating confusion over elections, stating that the party will not participate in any local election traps. “BNP will not fall into the trap of rehabilitating mafia groups involved in genocide, money laundering, and corruption.”
While speaking virtually from London at BNP’s extended meeting on Thursday, Tarique Rahman urged the interim government to move away from its plan to hold local elections aimed at rehabilitating mafia groups.
He also urged the interim government immediate announcement of a clear roadmap for its future course of action.
Tarique Rahman called upon all including farmers, workers, scholars, ulama, Pir Mashayek and people of all classes and professions to stay vigilant against any conspiracy to destroy the environment of national unity and the national elections.
BNP’s extended meeting is being held after a long seven years as the last one was held on February 4, 2018.
