Four killed, five injured in Habiganj road crash

Habiganj District Correspondent : Four people, including two women, were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Madhabpur upazila early Friday.

The accident occurred around 2am in the Bakharnagar area.
All the victims were passengers of the pickup van, which was also carrying household goods.

Among the deceased were Jamal Hasan, 40, and his wife Ayesha Begum, 38, from Kadma village in Nabiganj upazila. Police are working to identify the other victims.

Madhabpur police station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter.

He said the Dhaka-bound truck collided with the pickup van carrying 16 to 17 people in the Bakharnagar area, leaving four of them dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were taken to Habiganj General Hospital, and the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
