Southbank Centre Set to Host South Asian Sounds 2025

The highly anticipated South Asian Sounds 2025 festival will take place in London next week, running from 15 to 18 May at the Southbank Centre.

The festival opens with maestro Baluji Shrivastav OBE leading Re-Orient in a fusion of Latin, Indian, and jazz traditions. On Friday, composer Sumeet Chopra and UK bhangra star Jaz Dhami will highlight the evolving journey of Punjabi music.

Saturday features two standout acts: award-winning sitarist Roopa Panesar, performing her critically acclaimed album ATMA with an eight-piece ensemble, and Gujarat’s folk legend Osman Mir, who will perform orchestral arrangements with his son Aamir Mir and the Third Culture Collective

Closing the event on Sunday, Rizwan Muazzam Qawwali Group returns to London with their powerful devotional Sufi music, continuing the legacy of the great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Presented in collaboration with partners including Asian Arts Agency, Baluji Music Foundation, and Ragatip, South Asian Sounds reaffirms Southbank Centre’s commitment to diverse and inclusive programming.
