New Zealand thrashed England by 2 wickets in the final ODI, completing a 3-0 series whitewash and reliving a feat last achieved in 1982.
While the series win had already been secured, the Black Caps ensured England left without even a consolation victory.
At Wellington’s Regional Stadium, England was bowled out for 222 in 40.2 overs, struggling against the lethal spells of Blair Tickner and Jacob Duffy.
Only Jacob Bethell managed double digits among the top five batsmen. Jamie Overton’s 68, Jos Buttler’s 38 and Brydon Carse’s 36 helped England cross 200.
Tickner took 4 wickets for 64 runs, while Duffy claimed 3 for 56.
Chasing 223, New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals but were steadied by Rachin Ravindra (46), Devon Conway (34) and a late unbeaten partnership of Tickner and Zakary Fox that ensured victory. Overton and Sam Curran picked two wickets each for England.
The win marks New Zealand’s second 3-0 series whitewash of England, celebrating a historic repeat of their dominance from four decades ago.
