New US ambassador to arrive in Dhaka today

Newly appointed United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen sets to arrive in Dhaka on Monday evening.

According to diplomatic sources, he will be welcomed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by officials from the US Embassy in Dhaka and representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sources added, Christensen will formally begin his mission in Dhaka later this week by presenting copies of his credentials.

The newly appointed US ambassador, Christensen, was sworn in at the US State Department on 9 January.
