Queen Elizabeth

By Jannatul Ferdous Doly:

One of the most important and long-reigning female monarchs in the history of the United Kingdom was Queen Elizabeth. She was born on April 21, 1926, in London, England, and passed away on September 8, 2022. For nearly 70 years, she served as the Queen of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries. Her reign began in 1952 when she ascended the throne.

“Princess Elizabeth” was her childhood name. Elizabeth never imagined that she would become Queen, but after her uncle, King Edward VIII, abdicated the throne, her father, King George VI, became king, and Elizabeth eventually became the heir.

During the Second World War, she stepped forward to serve her country and joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service, where she received training as a driver and mechanic for military vehicles. This was a significant moment in the history of the British royal family, as she stood directly beside the people.

She became Queen in 1952 after the death of her father. Her reign was one of the longest in history. During this time, the United Kingdom experienced many political, social, and technological changes. Nevertheless, she was always regarded as a symbol of stability, unity, and continuity.

Among her major contributions were strengthening relationships among Commonwealth countries, maintaining the United Kingdom’s position in international diplomacy, and adapting the monarchy to the modern era. She played an important role in improving international relations and made official visits to many countries around the world.

She was a leader who remained deeply committed to her responsibilities, extremely patient, and devoted to her people. She always placed her duty to the nation above her personal life.

After Queen Elizabeth’s death in 2022, her son King Charles ascended the throne. Queen Elizabeth II will always be remembered in history as a unique, strong, and inspiring monarch.

This is a poem I wrote on her birthday as a tribute filled with deep respect and love.

Elizabeth: Crown of Time

By Jannatul Ferdous Doly:

The name of Queen Elizabeth

is not just a memory,

it shines through history,

a light that still guides the nation.

We remember her dedication

to the United Kingdom,

a life given in service,

with strength and grace.

She was a woman of rare character,

who gave her time and heart

to her people,

standing firm in every challenge.

In 1952, while on a royal tour,

she answered duty’s call

and became queen,

placing her nation above all.

Her crown was never just an ornament,

but a symbol of responsibility,

of endurance,

and quiet sacrifice.

Britain will always remember her,

her legacy living on in time.

She served her realm with all her heart,

a devoted and responsible leader

whose duty often came

before personal happiness.

She remains an inspiration

to people around the world,

a symbol of strength and dignity.

A great queen,

who carried the weight of the crown

and passed it on

to King Charles.
