Bangladesh rejoices at Tigers’ win

45People from all walks of life brought out victory processions all over the country on Tuesday to celebrate the Bangladesh national cricket team victory against England in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
Activists of ruling Awami League and opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party and different socio-cultural organisations brought out colourful processions across the country draped in green and red jerseys and waving national flags.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina declared formal celebrations of the victory while the BNP-led alliance relaxed the current 72-hour hartal for 12 hours from Tuesday morning to facilitate celebrations.
Activists of Awami League and BNP brought out processions in the capital, Chittagong, Bogra, Munhsiganj and others parts of the country. Hundreds of people coming down the streets joined the procession.
Dhaka University students also brought out a colorful procession at the campus joined by huge numbers of students.
Bangladesh cricket team, known as Tigers, beat the England cricket team, known as Three Lions, by 15 runs at Adelaide of Australia on Monday in a Pool A encounter.
This is for the first time that Bangladesh reached the quarter-finals since their first appearance in the mega event in the 1999 World Cup in England.
Bangladeshi captain Mashrafe Mortaza dedicated the win to the freedom fighters of the country, who valiantly fought the war of independence in 1971.
