BPL: Dynamites sink Vikings

39Dhaka Dynamites condemned Chittagong Vikings to a 45-run defeat in the Bangladesh Premier League on Tuesday to go a step closer to a last four berth.
The win means Dhaka have eight points from as many games, four clear off fifth-placed Sylhet Super Stars and bottom of the table Chittagong.
Batting first, Dhaka lost three wickets before scoring 15, but Kumar Sangakkara hit 38 off 36 balls to save the team from further damage.
Later, Mosaddek Hossain added 24 and Malcolm Waller 19 as Dhaka managed a decent total of 121 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs.
Chittagong bowlers Mohammad Amir and Shafiul Islam both were lethal and economic at the same time with the former bagging three for only 18 and the latter taking three for 21.
Chasing only their third win of the tourney, Chittagong were dazzled by Dhaka’s bowling prowess, losing all their wickets making only 76.
Mosharraf Hossain was the wrecker in chief as the left-arm orthodox bowler grabbed four wickets to flatten the Vikings and give his team a vital win. He was duly adjudged the man-of-the-match for his heroics.
Apart from Umar Akmal (14), Bilwal Bhatti (11) and Elias Sunny (10), none of the Chittagong batsmen could reach double figures.
