AYESHA QURESHI MBE APPOINTED AS JUSTICE OF THE PEACE

VVDAyesha Qureshi MBE was appointed a Justice of Peace JP for the East London Local Justice Area with courts sitting at Stratford and Thames Magistrates’ Courts.

Ayesha took her Oath of Allegiance and the Judicial Oath at a swearing-in ceremony held on Tuesday 28th June 2016 held at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

Ayesha is the founding editor of the prestigious British Bangladeshi Power & Inspiration, an annual list celebrating the success of the British Bangladeshi community in the UK. She is also founding trustee of the new BBPI Foundation which aims to create strong role models and empower the next generation through financial awards and mentoring support.

Ayesha is a finance lawyer working for a range of clients in the City and was awarded an MBE in the 2006 New Year’s Honours list for her unique role in the successful London Olympic bid. She was the only British Bangladeshi to present at a medal ceremony at the 2012 Games.

 Commenting on Ayesha Qureshi MBE JP’s new role Her Honour Judge Khatun Sapnara said:

She will make a valuable contribution to the justice system – bringing to it her passion, her experience in the law and her understanding of the diverse society which the courts serve.
