Hili Port to be shut down for 8 days

The Hili Land Port in Dinajpur district will halt all export-import activities for eight days on the occasion of the largest Hindu festival – Durga Puja.

However, passengers with passports will be able to pass through the Hili immigration check post normally.

Jamil Hossain Chalanta, general secretary of Bangla Hilli Customs C&F Agent Association, said the businessmen of the country have decided to stop the import and export of all kinds of goods from 1st to 6th October. The port will be closed for a total of 8 days due to 30th September and 7th October being Fridays.

Hili Immigration OC Badiuzzaman said import-export activities between the two countries will resume from Saturday, eighth October.
