SA vs BAN head-to-head,form guide

South Africa face Bangladesh in the 23rd match of the ongoing 2023 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday. Both teams have had contrasting campaigns, with South Africa currently in third place with three wins and a defeat. Meanwhile, Bangladesh are seventh with a victory and three losses.

The Proteas began their campaign with a couple of massive wins against Sri Lanka and Australia. The batters broke a number of records in the Sri Lanka match and South Africa won it by 102 runs. They then beat Australia a whopping 134 runs. However, their extraordinary start was then dented quite spectacularly when they lost to the Netherlands, the only associate nation in this World Cup, by 38 runs. It was the first time the Netherlands had defeated a Test playing nation in the World Cup and the result seemed to have undone all the positivity that South Africa had gathered from the previous two victories. However, they showed that the Netherlands results was an outlier by then thrashing defending champions England by 229 runs on Saturday.

South Africa will have plenty of positives to bring into their upcoming game, especially the batting form of Heinrich Klaasen, Reeza Hendricks and Marco Jansen. Klaasen bagged a century, smacking 109 runs off 67 balls. Meanwhile, Reeza Hendricks hammered 85 off 75 deliveries, and Marco Jansen clattered an unbeaten knock of 75 runs off 42 balls.

On the other hand, Bangladesh began their campaign with a six-wicket win. But then failed to build on their opening win, losing to England, New Zealand and India. Despite their heavy defeat against India in their last match, Bangladesh still had some positives to take back to the drawing board. The likes of Liton Das (66) and Tanzid Hasan (51). Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan bagged a two-wicket haul.
