Tamim decides to be back in cricket with BPL

Tamim Iqbal, who is currently out of cricket, has decided that he will be back in cricketing action with the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

In addition, the dashing opener will decide about his international career after January next year.
He provided the information at a press conference in the capital’s Banani on Monday afternoon.

Tamim said, “A clear decision was needed about the future of my international career after the World Cup (2023 ODI World Cup held in India). I openly discussed with Papon bhai (BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon) in this regard.”

“He also had something to share. I told him what I want to do. Then he told me to wait until the national elections, slated for January 7, as he is too busy for that reason. I may resume playing cricket with BPL. After that, it will be clear what I will do.”

Tamim Iqbal said goodbye to international cricket as well as stepping down as ODI captain amid the series against Afghanistan in July last. After that, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made him back again in the cricket. He then played an ODI match against New Zealand in September last.

He was supposed to play in the 2023 ODI World Cup but could not be included in the 15-member squad due to several complications including injury.
