Mashiur Rahaman Ranga’s nomination cancelled

The nomination papers of former Jatiya Party (JaPa) leader Mashiur Rahman Ranga, an independent candidate for Rangpur-1 constituency in the 12th parliamentary election, has been cancelled.

Mobaswer Hasan, the returning officer, announced the Election Commission’s decision in a press conference on Saturday, saying Mashiur Rahman has some case-related problem.

He has been asked to submit the case-related papers by 4pm. After scrutinising those papers, the returning officer will decide about his nomination.

Mashiur Rahman Ranga could not get a nomination from JaPa for the upcoming parliamentary election. He will contest as independent candidate.
