7 killed as bus rams autorickshaw in M’singh

Seven people, including a child, were killed after a bus smashed an autorickshaw in Mymensingh’s Sadar upazila on Friday morning.

The accident happened at about 11am in Alalpur area.

Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station inspector Md Main Uddin said, “Police teams and Fire Service personnel are working on the spot.”

According to Sadar Police Station SI Harunur Rashid, who is on the spot, said a Sherpur-bound bus of Adil Paribahan from Dhaka hit a CNG-run autorickshaw coming from opposite side in the Alalpur area. Later, the autorickshaw got twisted.

Seven people, including the autorickshaw driver, died on the spot. Their identities could not be known immediately. Later, the autorickshaw got twisted. Six of the dead were passengers of the autorickshaw.

The bus was seized.

Vehicular movement on the road was suspended for an hour following the accident.
