Workers to get salaries and bonuses before Eid: State Minister

Workers’ salary and bonus will be paid before the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, said State Minister for Labour and Manpower valiant freedom fighter Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury.

“It has been possible to resolve the issue of workers’ salary and bonus through the united efforts the government, workers and owners. Besides, efforts are going on to introduce rationing system for workers,” he said while briefing journalists following the 18th meeting of the Tripartite Consultative Council held at the Srama Bhaban on Wednesday (May 15) with State Minister for Labour and Manpower in the chair.

Nazrul Islam Chowdhury said decisions will be taken on the basis of discussion and consent between owners and workers so that the Eid holidays of workers become lengthy and convenient. Workers cannot be retrenched or factories cannot declare lay-off before Eid.
