Special trains on Ctg-Cox’s Bazar route cancelled

Bangladesh Railways has cancelled the running of special trains on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar route due to engine problem and lack of locomaster.

The authorities said on Thursday (May 29) that the order will remain in force till further direction.

The trains on the route operated on Wednesday as usual.

The railway officials said that the special trains will start running on the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar route after overcoming the locomaster crisis.

But two non-stop trains–Cox’s Bazar Express and Porjotok Express–will run as per schedule.

According to the pre-annoucement of the railway, it was scheduled to run of the special trains till June 10. But the authorities stopped running the trains before 12 days ago.

Saiful Islam, divisional railways manager of Chattogram, said the existing engine and crew of this train have been taken to BR’s Dhaka Division to resolve the crisis.
