Two children drown in Moulvibazar

Two minor children drowned in a pond at Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar district on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at Dougau village under Prithim Pasa union in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Nabila, 7, daughter of Aktar Miah, a resident of the area and Taslima, 6, daughter of Murad Miah, of the same area.

Local UP member Md Kibriah Hossain said that Nabila and Taslima drowned in a pond near their house while they were playing on its bank.

Later, locals, sensing their absence, started searching and found their bodies floating in the pond, he added.
