Powered by Quinton de Kock’s 74 runs and Aiden Markram’s 46, South Africa posted 194 losing only 4 wickets after 20 overs against USA in the first Super-8 group match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua on Wednesday.

For the co-hosts, Saurabh Netravalkar and Harmeet Singh struck twice.

Earlier, United States won the toss and opted to bowl against South Africa at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound in Antigua on Wednesday.

The pace attacks of both teams have been their strengths in the tournament so far. Anrich Nortje has picked up nine wickets and is looking like he is back to his previous best after a forgettable Indian Premier League season.

The United States batters though have looked competent and skillfully equipped to deal with high pace the challenge one Nortje possesses is something they would have never faced before.

The USA on the other hand has their pace attack which has looked threatening will their batting step up to counter the South African bowling is something to be seen.

Aaron Jones and Andries Gous have looked solid in the middle order for the USA with Monank Patel playing an inning of substance against Pakistan in the Group Stage.
