AL to hold programme at 3pm to counter its arch-rival BNP’s rally

BNP is going to hold a rally at Nayapaltan party office in the capital on Saturday afternoon demanding the unconditional release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The rally will start at 2:30pm. Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will present at the rally.

After around eight months, the BNP announced this programme for Khaleda Zia’s release.

Meanwhile, the ruling Awami League will hold a programme in the city today apparently to counter a rally of its arch-rival BNP on the same day.

The AL’s Dhaka city (south) unit will organise a discussion in front of the party headquarters in the capital’s Gulistan at 3pm marking its 75th founding anniversary.

On June 26, the BNP announced that it will hold fresh programmes demanding immediate, unconditional release of party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

As part of the programmes, the party will stage a rally in front of its central office in the city’s Nayapaltan.
