10 detained from Dhanmondi-32, handed over to police

Ten suspected people, who were detained by the students and protesting people from Dhanmondi-32, have been handed over to police.

Students and people with sticks and pipes have been taken position at Dhanmondi-32 since Thursday morning. They are checking ID cards of passersby.

They even were seen beating up people who were trying to enter the historic Dhanmondi-32.

Mobile phones were also being checked.

Dhanmondi Police Station OC Emran Hossain said that the 10 people were detained on suspicion of attempting to go to Dhanmondi-32 to pay tributes at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, commemorating the 49th anniversary of his assassination.

Some people were seen being chased by a group of people, some were seen being beaten up.
