Bangladesh bowlers dominated on day two of the second and final Test against Pakistan as the hosts were dismissed for 274 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Among the bowlers, off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed his 10th Test fifer while Taskin struck thrice and Shakib Al Hasan and Nahid Rana share one wicket each.
As the first day was washed out due to persistent rain, Bangladesh put Pakistan into bat first and took immediate control of the match, thanks to Miraz’s brilliance. He was ably supported by pacer Taskin Ahmed who took 3-57 in his comeback Test. Taskin who played his first Test match after June 2023 replaced fellow pacer Shoriful Islam, who was ruled out with groin injury.
For Pakistan, opener Saim Ayub was the top-scorer with 58 while captain Shan Masood made 57 and Salman Agha added 54. Bangladesh are leading the two-match series by 1-0 following its historic 10-wicket victory in the first match.
In reply, Bangladesh openers Shadman Islam (6*) and Zakir Hasan (0*) survived two overs at the end of the day’s play, scoring 10 runs. They are trailing by 264 runs.
