Ex-Jashore MP Shahidul Islam arrested

Former lawmaker of Jashore constituency Shahidul Islam Milon was arrested from Gulistan area of the capital on Thursday over attacks on the students-public during the recent upsurge.

Talibur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the DMP, said that Detective Branch of police arrested Milon from Phulbaria area of Gulistan on Thursday afternoon.

Milon, a freedom fighter and also president of the Jashore district unit of Awami League, was taken to Gulshan police station.

The police official said Milon is accused in several cases.
