Salman-Anisul-Atiqul-Dipu Moni again on 2-day remand in murder case

A court in Dhaka on Monday placed six persons, including Salman F Rahman, former private industry affairs adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former Law Minister Anisul Haq and Dipu Moni, on a two-day remand each in a murder case filed with Badda Police Station.

The other remanded accused are former Justice Abul Hossain Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, former State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former mayor Atiqul Islam and Sramik League leader Golam Sarwar Pintu.

Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Istiak granted the remand prayer after CID police inspector Ridwanul Haque, also the investigation officer of the case, pleaded for a 5-day remand for them.

Public prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruki was present of behalf of the state, while the defence lawyers prayed for cancellation of remand and sought bail. After the hearing, the court rejected the bail petition and granted the remand for questioning.
