Bangladesh received record-high $3.29 billion remittance in March

Bangladesh received a record-high US$3.29 billion in inward remittances in March 2025, marking the highest monthly inflow in the country’s history.

According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, remittance inflows in March saw a staggering 64.7 percent year-on-year growth, compared to $1.99 billion in March 2024, reports UNB.

During the first nine months (July–March) of the current fiscal year 2024–25, expatriates sent a total of $21.77 billion in remittances.

Remittances extend monthly record to $2.95 billion in just 26 days of March

This is significantly higher than the $17.07 billion received in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year 2023–24.

The monthly breakdown of remittance inflows from July to March is as follows:

July: $1.91 billion

August: $2.22 billion

September: $2.40 billion

October: $2.39 billion

November: $2.20 billion

December: $2.64 billion

January: $2.19 billion

February: $2.53 billion

March: $3.29 billion

The continued growth in remittance inflows is expected to boost the country’s foreign currency reserves and support economic stability.
