CA outlines next steps in reform process

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Monday issued key directives to guide the next phase of the reform initiative, as the National Consensus Commission assessed the progress of its ongoing dialogue with political parties.

The directives came during a meeting held at the State Guest House Jamuna, where Prof Yunus, who also heads the interim government, presided over a comprehensive discussion on the country’s political reform agenda, according to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s press wing.

Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz briefed the Chief Adviser on the status of discussions already conducted with various political parties.

Other Commission members — Dr Badiul Alam Majumder, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Justice Emdadul Hoque, and Safar Raj Hossain — also contributed to the deliberations.

The meeting was further attended by Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul, Industries and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Monir Haider.
