Bangladesh whitewash Afghanistan after dominant win in final T20I

Bangladesh completed a clean sweep over Afghanistan with a commanding six-wicket win in the third and final T20 International at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday, sealing the series 3–0 in style.

Set a target of 144, Bangladesh chased it down effortlessly with two overs to spare, powered by a stunning 64 off just 38 balls from Saif Hassan, whose innings included seven massive sixes. Tanzid Hasan provided solid support with a composed 33, ensuring the chase never lost momentum.

Earlier, Bangladesh’s bowlers continued their impressive form, holding Afghanistan to 143 for 9. Mohammad Saifuddin was the standout performer with figures of 3 for 15, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Nasum Ahmed chipped in with two wickets each.

Afghanistan’s Darwish Rasooli and Sediqullah Atal offered some resistance, but their efforts fell short against Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack.

Despite a couple of breakthroughs from Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the result was never in doubt. Nurul Hasan finished the job in the 18th over, sparking celebrations in the Bangladesh camp after their first-ever T20I whitewash on UAE soil.

The emphatic series win marks another step forward for Bangladesh as they continue to build consistency in the shortest format ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup.
