Gold prices rise again, 22-carat to sell at Tk 2,02,195 per bhori

Gold prices in the country have increased once again, with the price of 22-carat gold now set at Tk 2,02,195 per bhori (11.664 grams), marking a rise of Tk 1,469 from the previous rate.

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new pricing in a press release issued on Tuesday night, stating that the revised rates will come into effect across the country from Wednesday (October 8).

According to BAJUS, the adjustment comes in response to a rise in the price of pure (tejabi) gold in the local market.

As per the new rates, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk 1,93,004 per bhori, while the price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 1,65,430 per bhori.

Gold produced under traditional (sanatan) method will be priced at Tk 1,37,472 per bhori.

Experts attribute the rise in gold prices to the volatility in international market and increased local demand, which continue to exert upward pressure on the domestic gold market.
