India secured a commanding 2-0 series sweep over West Indies with a seven-wicket victory in the second and final Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Shubman Gill’s side comfortably chased down the modest 121-run target on the final day of the Test, wrapping up the win in first session.
India had already set the stage for victory by the end of Day 4. On Day 5, KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 58, while debutant Sai Sudharsan contributed a composed 39, as the hosts cruised to their target, losing just three wickets.
The hosts were dominant throughout the match. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India piled up a massive 518 for 5 before declaring, thanks to centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill.
In response, West Indies crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for just 248 in their first innings, with left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav picking up a brilliant five-wicket haul.
Following on, the visitors showed commendable resistance. Opener John Campbell scored 115, while Shai Hope added 103, helping West Indies avoid an innings defeat and set India a target of 121.
However, their fight only served to reduce the margin of defeat, as India made light work of the chase.
