Today’s ruling will pave the way for fair-impartial polls: Badiul Alam

Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Secretary of Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik (SUJAN), is happy with the top court’s verdict which reinstate the caretaker government system.

”Today’s ruling by the Appellate Division will pave the way for fair and impartial elections.”

Badiul Alam, one of the petitioners, said this while expressing reaction to media on Thursday soon after the judgement.

The Appellate Division has overturned the entire verdict given 14 years ago. The court declared the judgment dismissing review petition and granted the appeal against the verdict.

According to the judgement, the provisions related to the non-partisan caretaker government were revived and activated through this ruling.
